How to Write Compare and Contrast Essay

A compare and contrast theme means that you will present two things. Advantages or disadvantages, their effects, relations etc.

When you are writing theme, don’t be subjective. For example; you love a singer and hate another. Don’t compare them, that is not fair. You can compare , for example, living in a city or living in a small town. Remember: Be fair!

First Way: Compare all things in one paragraph. For example there is X and Y. Write all good thing of those in a paragraph and write both bad sides in another paragraph.

This form is very common.

Second Way: Compare Z of X and Y. Write similarties and differences. In another paragraph write W of X and Y. Compare them.

    Compare or contrast two things; if it’s more than two, it will be an analysis essay.
    Sunjects must have something in common and uncommon.
    Be fair.
    Write own things in your mind also. Give examples.
    If you are going to write about many sides of two thing, use the first way.
    Don’t write about so complex things. If you do, you may not be able to pick the topic up.
    Remember to use following phrases.
