“must” and “have to” may be used interchangeable on * meanings.

must not / cannot are same in terms of prohibitions.
do not / does not have to gives a meaning something is not necessary

He didn’t need to come to class yesterday. (There is not any obligation and he did not come to the class.
He need not have come to the class. (There is not any obligation but he came to the class.)

PRESENT
She is at home. 100%
She must be at home.  90%
She may / might / could be at home. %50
She is not at home. 100%
She can not / could not be at home. 99% (almost sure)
She mustn't be at home. 90%
She may not / might not be at home. 50%

PAST
She was at home. 100%
She must have been at home. 90%
She may / might / could be at home50%

Remember: should have + V3 = ought to have + V3
Also: would have  + V3 (---mış olurdum)


This car needs to be washed / washing. (only in passive sentences either of them is true.)
